TATCHA KYOTO RED

If you would have told me 5 years ago that red lipstick would be one of my favorites, I would have laughed so hard ! Actually, scratch that even an year back, red would be too intimidating for me. Fast forward today, I’m actually loving red lips and I’ve found another one that I love !

Tatcha Kyoto Red, was actually released a little more than an year back. It was limited edition, and I missed it then. When Tatcha brought it back again, and for a limited time again, I immediately had to have it ! And I’m so glad I bought this.

From Tatcha’s website:

The geisha discovered the striking beauty of richly hued red lips centuries ago. Tatcha has remastered this iconic shade with a thoroughly modern, universally flattering formula perfect for every skin tone.

The geisha’s timeless vermillion lip has been remastered for the modern woman. This featherweight formula combines brilliant pigments with silk and botanical extracts for a uniquely long-wearing matte finish, with a deeply hydrating texture.

It retails for 55$ (3.7 grams. 0.13oz) and it comes in a luxurious black and gold custom tube, which is pretty hefty, and closes with a click, but a soft click. The packaging is stunning, it has to be experienced. So luxe and posh !

It is a warm red, not too orange though, as you can see from the swatches. This is quite pigmented, the swatches are one/two swipes only. As you can it is very opaque, a full on red. It is a semi matte, leaning a tad more towards satin. It is not as matte as say, the Charlotte Tilbury matte lipsticks, but it is not as creamy as a satin lipstick either.

Edit: It almost ‘sets’ after about 30 minutes to a matte look. My lips look very smooth and plump.

In direct sunlight

In outdoor light (shade)

It is gorgeous though, I have not worn this for a full day so far, but it stays on really well, and is quite hydrating, my lips don’t peel or feel dry after I wear this. My lips adore this ! LOVE !

This is limited edition, so run and get it soon if this looks like love! XO
